The luthier name "Pedro de Miguel" is the name of two great Madrid luthiers. Pedro Perez and Miguel Rodriguez. Both entered the Ramirez shop as apprentices at the age of fourteen. After six years both became journeymen and later became master craftsmen working on Ramirez III's personal team.
They worked for Ramirez until 1990. Then, in 1991, Pedro and Miguel ventured out to establish their own workshop. Since Rodriguez was such a common name, they decided to combine their names and sell their guitars under the "Pedro de Miguel" label.
Pedro de Miguel offers both a professional and student line of guitars. Their professional or 1a primera models are built by hand themselves. Their student models are manufactured for them and built according to their specifications.
Their guitars have reached great prestige among both classical and flamenco guitarists. Their flamenco guitars are played by the likes of Gerardo Nunez, Pepe Habichuela, Tomatito and Rafael Riqueni to name a few.
