The leading Flamenco Guitar house of Madrid, Conde Hermanos is the choice of a majority of professional flamenco players. Made famous by Paco De Lucia, its legendary media luna headstock is now a cherished flamenco heirloom to generations of guitarists.

As one would expect of such remarkable Negra, it is a professional instrument. The spell-casting sound of its woods resonates at the lightest touch. Its German spruce top is open and ripe, affording a soloist the most lyrical tones, sweet ringing trebles balancing deep expressive basses. Yet, its Rasgueos are dense and earnest, as the eager steps of a baile this guitar can mark loudly and gracefully.

This particular instrument has been preserved scrupulously and is offered in mint conditions.

The back and sides are made of Caviuna, as indicated on the label. In an email, Conde Hermanos explains “Caviuna is a kind of rosewood of Brazil. Its botanical name is: Machaerium Scleroxylon.”

The original finish, often described as French Polish, revealed to be a thin layer of lacquer. In 2009, the guitar was entirely and superbly refinished in French polish of Shellac, by the renown California luthier, German Vazquez Rubio, widely recognized for his exemplar French polishing work.

Currently this model sells new in the US for $12,500. La Falesta holds it on consignment, inviting offers to purchase it or trade it for a Blanca of even value.
